Veeam Software has released its second quarter for 2017 results showing that it has continued to gain market share over legacy backup providers. In fact, Veeam has seen 36 straight months of double digit growth and, according to the company, has overtaken Commvault in marketshare and industry leader recognition.
To say Veeam had a good quarter is a bit of an understatement. This quarter the company saw 27% year-on-year (YoY) total bookings revenue growth (53% YoY bookings growth on $100K+ deals). Veeam added 13,000 new customers, averaging over 4,000 per month, bringing their total customer count to 255,000 worldwide. Veeam increased its Net Promoter Score (NPS) by 11 points to 73, which is more than twice the industry average. And the company saw a big uptick in customers through the reseller agreement it entered with HPE.
Veeam saw good placing in analysts reports for 2016 as well. In Gartner’s Backup & Recovery Marketshare Report 2016, Veeam moved up to number 4 globally. In IDC’s Software Tracker, Data Protection 2016, Veeam placed in the top four vendors. Not only does these improvements cement Veeam as an industry leader, it enabled the company to enjoy “phenomenal” financial gains.
