Today Kingston Digital, Inc. announced that it would be showcasing its new 2.5” U.2 NVMe PCIe SSD, DCU1000, at Flash Memory Summit (FMS) 2017. The DCU1000 will be aimed at higher end enterprise use giving Kingston the broadest portfolio of end-to-end data performance solutions.

Kingston is referring to the DCU1000 as the industry’s fastest NVMe SSD for the U.2 form factor. Kingston goes on to claim that the new drive is ideal for meeting evolving data automation and performance requirements for Intel’s new Xeon Scalable processor family. The company states that Intel’s new processor family will drive more PCIe adoption

At FMS, Kingston and its partners will be providing several demonstrations that highlight the capabilities of the DCU1000. These demonstrations will look directly at some of the issues seen in the modern data center. As data centers adapt to new technology they will new storage and performance to handle it. The new technologies include Internet-of-Things (IoT) environments, artificial intelligence, high performance and enterprise computing, next-generation media & entertainment and much more.

The Demos include:

  • Extreme performance – Kingston integrates the upcoming DCU1000 U.2 NVMe SSD in a 10-Bay 1U server chassis from AIC. This demo populates 10 DCU1000 SSD's (totaling 40 physical drives) in a compact 1U server form factor illustrating density capability and scaling of the Kingston U.2 design and the extreme performance of NVMe.
  • Wall Of Video – Kingston will show approximately 500 individual videos running from a single DCP1000 NVMe PCIe SSD. The 500 videos will be displayed on a customized 42U rack with LCD screens attached broadcasting the videos.
  • Composable Infrastructure – DCU1000 will be part of live CI demo that shows dynamic assignment of DCU1000 storage devices to CPU nodes.

Kingston will be showcasing the DCU1000 at booth #827.
