Today HP announced two new next-generation thin clients that aim to deliver PC-like performance and the security, the t530 Thin Client and the mt21 Mobile Thin Client. Coming with all new designs, the Thin Clients are ideal for several use cases in a range of markets. The t530 and mt21 can deliver the needed compute processing and graphics capabilities for cloud computing. Both of the new Thin Clients will be showcased at VMworld 2017 in Las Vegas.

Redesigned for the “office of the future,” the HP t530 Thin Client is built around around an AMD GX-215JJ dual-core 1.5 – 2.0 GHz SoC with Radeon R2E graphics and has a fully solid-state fan-less design. The t530 has several I/O ports including USB-A (3 x 3.1 and 2 x 2.0), 1 x USB-C, 2 x DisplayPorts, 1 x RJ-45, and 1 x VGA/Serial (configurable) port. Though it has a network port, the t530 comes with an optional Wi-Fi adaptor with Bluetooth, making it ideal for use cases where it needs to be mobile (such as on hospital carts). The Thin Client also has a 512GB SSD and 16GB of SDRAM. From an OS standpoint, the t530 supports a Windows operating system or HP’s Linux-based ThinPro with Smart Zero Core. And these OS can work with applications leveraging VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft.

All of the above power makes the t530 ideal for several use cases including call-centers, PC-replacement, and cloud computing applications. The t530 can also be customized further to tailor it to specific needs, including optional I/O ports or different storage or memory needs. And the t530 works with the latest virtualized and cloud computing workloads, with enough power onboard to handle higher processing and graphics rendering needs.
