Today HP Inc. announced a new range of fifth-generation HP ZBook Mobile Workstations. These new workstations are all designed with the creative and technical professional in mind. The new line up features what the company is calling the world’s most powerful convertible PC, HP ZBook Studio x360 G5, and the world’s most powerful mobile workstation, the HP Z Book 17 G5.

After monitoring the market and looking at trends, HP wants to supply mobile users with workstations that fit their needs and are beautifully designed. The workstations announced today are built with precision-crafted machined aluminum to make the computers more durable and lighter. They also have bright displays with narrow bezels for more screen to size ratio. But dropping a mobile workstation isn’t the only risk; the new ZBooks are also built to be the “world’s most secure” mobile workstations.

For creative professionals, HP announced new convertible PCs: the HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 and ZBook Studio G5. The HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 is touted as the world’s most powerful convertible PC. Users have the option of either using it as a laptop or tablet with its 360-degree hinge making the switch super easy. From a touch perspective, the screen has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity on its anti-glare HP DreamColor 4K Display.

Key specifications of the HP ZBook Studio x360 G5 include:

  • CPU families:
  • 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor (i7-8750H, i7-8850H)
  • 8th Generation Intel Core i5 processor (i5-8300H, i5-8400H)

For those that want the benefits of a convertible PC but don’t quite need the pressure sensitivity of the above, HP is offering its ZBook Studio G5. The Studio comes with many of the same features as both along with a display with 600 nits of brightness. There are also built in security features such as facial recognition and webcam shutter.

HP’s 15-inch ZBooks are the highest selling mobile workstations in the world. The latest generation sees a 30% improvement in thermal performance, leading to a cooler, quieter experience. The HP ZBook 15v G5 is similar to the above with the budget friendly in mind. Built with several of the same components as the 15 (thought with less RAM, less storage, and different GPUs) the 15v offers more than enough power for jobs like Autodesk or SolidWorks. The mobile workstation is also built to take a beating with military standard on drop, shock, and harsh environments—though it is so pretty it would be a shame to drop it.
