QNAP has officially released the HS-453DX NAS, which is highlighted by an Intel Celeron quad-core processor, HDMI 2.0 (4K 60Hz) output, 4K real-time transcoding, and 10GbE high-speed connectivity. Sporting a unique modern design suitable for workstation areas at home, QNAP’s new NAS solution features a fanless cooling for silent operation.
QNAP has officially released the HS-453DX NAS, which is highlighted by an Intel Celeron quad-core processor, HDMI 2.0 (4K 60Hz) output, 4K real-time transcoding, and 10GbE high-speed connectivity. Sporting a unique modern design suitable for workstation areas at home, QNAP’s new NAS solution features a fanless cooling for silent operation.
Along with its quad-core 1.5 GHz processor (with burst up to 2.5 GHz), the HS-453DX features upwards of 8GB of DDR4 memory and two 3.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s drive bays. Performance-wise, the NAS is quoted to boast up to 677MB/s in read and write speeds. The HS-453DX is also outfitted with two M.2 2280 SATA SSD slots, allowing the NAS to act as a hybrid storage solution with SSD caching for better overall performance during resource-heavy applications. It also features a built-in 10GBASE-T five-speed port (10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M).
Like all QNAPS devices of its class, the HS-453DX offers a plethora of multimedia applications, such as: dual-channel 4K real-time transcoding, Plex Media Server streams media to DLNA devices, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Google Chromecast.
The HS-453DX also supports software-defined SSD RAID extra over-provisioning (OP), which allows users to allocate additional OP space to optimize SSD random write speeds and to help promote a longer SSD lifecycle.
