The new microSD card has higher capacity and higher performance for capturing and storing larger files. WD is showcasing the memory card at this year’s Mobile World Congress.

The new microSD card has higher capacity and higher performance for capturing and storing larger files. WD is showcasing the memory card at this year’s Mobile World Congress.
Smartphones, tablets, cameras, and drones are all taking better and better photographs and video every time a new version hits the market. While the ability to capture and store has been around for some time, bringing multiple cards out in the field or waiting to transfers large files is no fun. With the new SanDisk Extreme, these issues are handled in a one, two punch. Not only does the card offer up to 1TB of capacity, WD claims speeds of 160MB/s read and 90MB/s write. The card will feature the A2 specification for use in expanding the capacity of mobile devices and will be offered in a 512GB capacity as well.

The 1TB SanDisk Extreme card is expected to be available in April 2019 at a MSRP of $449.99.
