LaCie has unveiled a new network storage server based on Microsoft Windows Home Server at CES 2010.
The server, aimed at small businesses, is built on LaCie’s 5big Network featuring five user-replaceable drives, Gigabit Ethernet, and RAID 5/6 support. The server backs up data locally and to the Internet using LaCie’s Wuala technology.
The goal of the new server technology is to provide an enterprise-grade data protection solution with local and off-site backups in a single, low-cost system.
Additional product details will be available when the server technology is officially announced in Q1 2010.
