One of the top benefits of moving to cloud storage according to the survey is offsite data recovery. Cloud storage can also supplement or potentially replace tape backups and therefore lower cost since less hardware is needed. Corporate demand for cloud storage is also being fueled by the need to reduce IT costs, rising data storage requirements, and lengthy data retention requirements.
