OCZ has released their fastest SSD to date, the Vertex Limited Edition. The Vertex LE comes in 100GB and 200GB capacities with MLC NAND and promises transfer rates of 270MB/s read and 250MB/s write speeds. The SSD also reaches 15,000 IOPS in the 4K random write test.

The Vertex LE is clearly designed for computing enthusiasts, those who want the greatest performance possible. While OCZ is a little shy about saying it, their release certainly indicates they feel this is the fastest MLC SSD on the market.
Other highlights of the Vertex LE include; SATA 3Gb/s interface, TRIM support, RAID support, 1.5 million hours MTBF, and 3 year warranty.
Availability
Pricing for the two SSDs (100GB – OCZSSD2-1VTXLE100G, 200GB – OCZSSD2-1VTXLE200G) has not yet been announced, but the Vertex LE will start shipping in the next few weeks. The LE will however only be sold for a limited time.

The drive pricing has been announced – 100GB – $399.99 and 200GB – $829.99.
