Corsair appears to be SSD happy of late, launching the new Force Series today, just weeks after launching the Reactor value-line and Nova mainstream-line SSDs. The new Force SSDs leverage a SandForce SF-1200 controller and feature 280MB/s read and 260MB/s write times placing these SSDs squarely in the performance category.

While most SSDs handle sequential actions well, they tend to slip in performance with random read/writes. Corsair says the Force Series SSDs are "class-leading" in that regard. Further, the SandForce DuraClass Technology delivers write endurance and error correction features. These drives also support TRIM, use a SATA II interface and MLC memory.

Availability

The Corsair Force Series of SSDs includes two capacities, 100GB (CSSD-F100GB2-BRKT) and 200GB (CSSD-F200GB2-BRKT). While pricing has not been announced, the drives will start shipping in two weeks.
