Toshiba has announced the Canvio Portable hard drive product line, which features computer backup software and capacities from 500GB to 1TB. The backup process runs in the background, making it easy and reliable for home users.
The backup software is Windows-only and let users manage folders and files for backup, and offers search capabilities and step-by-step restore functionality to retrieve lost files. For advanced users, the Canvio offers more customization including extensive backup options, advanced restore functionalities and an ability to overwrite specific original files.
Users may also opt to back up the entire system, not just important files, which means Windows could be fully restored from any backup point.
If design is important, the Canvio product comes in several colors including Raven Black, Satin Silver, Liquid Blue, Rocket Red and Komodo Green.

The Toshiba Canvio portable hard drives are available now in 500GB ($119.99), 640GB ($139.99), 750GB ($159.99) and 1TB ($199.99) capacities.
