Synology Intros New Scalable NAS Servers for Small Business

Synology announced its latest high-performance NAS servers for small business – the RackStation RS810+ and DiskStation DS411+. The RS810+ offers up to 16TB of storage and the DS411+ is a four-bay unit with up to 100MB/s read and write speeds with RAID 5.



Synology announced its latest high-performance NAS servers for small business – the RackStation RS810+ and DiskStation DS411+. Both feature Synology’s DiskStation Manager 2.3 and are designed for small business use. In a RAID 5 Windows environment the RS810+ and DS411+ have an average read of 112MB/s and write speeds of 107MB/s and 106MB/s, respectively. Synology says both can respond to 1,000 simultaneous requests in less than 32 seconds.

The RS810+ is a four-bay rackmounted model; it can be expanded with another four bays using the RX410 expansion enclosure for up to 16TB total storage capacity. Notable features include VMWare-ready certification, hot-swappable drives, 1GB of RAM (expandable to 3GB), and a modular motherboard. The RS810RP+ model features a redundant power supply.

The DS411+ is a desktop four-bay model. It features a dual-core Intel Atom D510 processor.

Availability & Pricing
Both models are available now and shipping worldwide. The DS411+ is $450 (diskless) and has a two-year warranty. The RS810+ is $1,399 (diskless), the RS810RP+ is $1,899, and the RX410 enclosure is $550; all three rackmounted models carry a five-year warranty.
