The first eGo portable external drives with USB 3.0 will be the 500GB and 1TB versions, expected to be available by early October, without a price increase over their USB 2.0 models. The company will also be transitioning its other external hard drives to USB 3.0 technology starting in the first quarter of 2011.
Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drives include 256-bit hardware encryption (PC only), riggedized exterior, and the Iomega Protection software suite (includes v.Clone imaging software, 12-month Trend Micro Internet Security subscription, Iomega QuikProtect backup software, Roxio Retrospect backup software, and MozyHome 2GB online backup service).
All Iomega portable hard drives have a three-year limited warranty (with registration).
