Mushkin Announces 40GB Callisto deluxe SSD
Mushkin has announced a 40GB version of its Callisto deluxe SSD. The company claims the value-based drive has read speeds up to 280MB/s and write up to 270MB/s. The SSD is powered by a SandForce SF-1200 controller and has a three-year warranty.
The Mushkin 40GB Callisto deluxe SSD (MKNSSDCL40GB-DX) will be available soon from the Mushkin website and partners; pricing information has not been announced.
Hitachi Announces G-Technology Units Available with Enterprise Class Drives
G-Technology by Hitachi has announced its G-SPEED RAID family of products are now available with Hitachi Ultrastar enterprise-class hard drives. Unlike standard consumer hard drives, enterprise drives are designed for 24×7 “always on” operation and optimized for RAID operation.
The G-SPEED family of products is available with four to 16 bays, standalone or rack-mounted. Pricing starts at $899.99 for 4TB.
Icy Dock Intros Quad Bay Mobile Rack for Desktops
Icy Dock has introduced its MB994SP-4S Quad Bay 2.5″ SATA/SAS Mobile Rack, which accommodates four 2.5-inch hard drives and fits into a single 5.25″ device bay. It has a metal construction and ventilation slots on the front, back, top, and bottom; it also has dual 40mm cooling fans. Dual 4-pin power connectors are available to each drive.
The MB994SP-4S is designed for use in industrial PCs, servers, or any small form factor case where space is at a premium. It is compatible with 2.5-inch drives using a SATA I/II/III or SAS interface.
