Intel has launched a 120GB version of their venerable X25-M SSD series for $249 MSRP. The release of the 120GB model gives Intel something to sit between their 80GB and 160GB models, allowing for more gradual steps up in capacity and price for consumers.
Intel has launched a 120GB version of their venerable X25-M SSD series for $249 MSRP. The release of the 120GB model gives Intel something to sit between their 80GB and 160GB models, allowing for more gradual steps up in capacity and price for consumers.
The 120GB X25-M is also meant to give Intel something that lines up more directly against the slew of competing SSDs based on the SandForce SF-1200 processor that use the popular 120GB capacity. Intel’s $249 MSRP should translate into something around $229 in retail channel, putting it pretty close to price parity with the 120GB SandForce drives.
Intel also lowered the MSRP of the 80GB X25-M to $199, currently found at $189 in retail.
