Datacenter architects and SAN manufacturers have fallen in love with the SSD for caching and metadata storage and OCZ is doing its best to return that affection. The San Jose-based company has announced that it’s releasing a 1.8" version of its enterprise-grade Deneva SSD line dubbed the Deneva MO-297.

This release comes on the heels of the company’s announcement last week of record Q2 revenues credited largely to demand for SSDs from the enterprise. The newly announced drives conform to the MO-297 SATA form-factor standard and are available with or without OCZ’s proprietary power-failure write-protection system.

The SSDs are being made with capacities up to 128GB but are only available as customer samples as of now. Pricing was not announced.
