AVADirect has announced a new 8-node server system designed for customers looking to replace their large server farms with something smaller and more cost-effective.

This 3U system starts at about $6,700 and can be configured as needed. The system is based of the H2 1155 socket (Intel). The motherboard has two native SATA ports, two SATA hot-swap bays, and an open PCI-e x8 slot for adding a dedicated RAID card.

Each node features a quad-core Intel Xeon processor and 32GB of RAM. The server features a redundant 1620W Platinum Level high-efficiency power supply unit with cooling zone controls.
