OWC has announced a way for those that have upgraded their MacBook Air’s SSD to use the original drive as an external storage solution. Two new enclosures are available for the SSD from any 2010/2011 MacBook Air.
The two new products are as follows:
- OWC Mercury On-The-Go USB 3.0/2.0 External Enclosure
- OWC Mercury Elite™ Pro mini FireWire 800/400+USB2+eSATA External Enclosure
The Mercury On-The-Go solution features a clear acrylic case and is pocket-sized. The Mercury Elite Pro enclosure has a brushed aluminum casing and is designed for stationary use. It features more connection options than the Mercury On-The-Go solution.
Pricing and Availability
The Mercury On-The-Go solution is $69.99 for the enclosure only and the Mercury Elite Pro is $109.99. The enclosures are only $35 each when purchased with the company’s Mercury Aura Pro Express SSD upgrade option for the MacBook Air.
