NETGEAR, a global networking company, have launched the Media Storage Router (WNDR4700CES) at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Media Storage Router focuses on of two of the most important consumer technology trends of the last few years: The ability to store and stream large amounts of High Definition content and the need for high-speed, secure wireless connectivity for the ever-growing list of Internet enabled devices including smartphones, game consoles, and TVs. The Media Storage Router is able to provide both Apple Time Machine backup and Windows PC backup services and has transfer speeds of up to 900 Mb/s.

The Media Storage Router is equipped with an integrated 2TB hard drive that is upgradable at any time. The Storage Router is also built with two USB 3.0 ports so that users can attach more storage capacity or convert existing external USB hard drives to networked drives.
NETGEAR also unveiled a number of new WiFi, networking, media products at this year’s CES, such as the Powerline 500 Nano, the N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit DSL Modem Router (DGND4000), and the Smart Network Cloud Application Platform.

- The N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit DSL Modem Router (DGND4000), which provides an integrated DSL modem with high performance wireless router with speeds of up to 450 MB/s.
- Smart Network Cloud Application Platform is a new technology platform that enables consumers to purchase and download apps from the cloud to optimize and personalize their connected home
