Few understand the needs of the remote/branch office like Riverbed does. Riverbed’s SteelFusion was the first hyperconverged infrastructure built for the purpose of efficient management of ROBO IT. Few understand the needs of the remote/branch office like Riverbed does. Riverbed’s SteelFusion was the first hyperconverged infrastructure built for the purpose of efficient management of ROBO IT. They’ve been in the business for a while as well, launching their first WAN optimization appliance in 2004. To get another view on what’s going on at the edge though, Riverbed surveyed attendees of EMC World this year to get their perspective on the challenges of remote IT. Interestingly, the data indicated ROBO is very important to the larger IT organization, coming in behind just the core data center in order of importance. In this podcast Brian Beeler sits down with Alison Conigliaro-Hubbard, Senior Director for Riverbed Technology, to discuss the survey results, the larger picture of IT at the edge and how Riverbed is helping their customers achieve impressive feats like standing up a remote office in 15 minutes or less.
