The new backup service also provides deduplicated images of virtual servers that can be transferred offsite for thorough disaster recovery protection, which is available free for existing Barracuda Backup Service customers with an active Energize Updates subscription.

Barracuda Backup Service offers physical and virtual backups within a single, integrated offsite replication solution without complex per server or per application fees. In addition, Barracuda Backup Service users have a more efficient way to recover their virtual servers with VMware host support, such as comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity functionality, regardless of whether they replicate their data to the cloud or to another Barracuda Backup Server.
VMware Support
Barracuda Networks now supports VMware product versions: VMware ESX 4.0.x and 4.1.x, VMware ESXi 4.0.x, and 4.1.x, VMware ESXi 5.0.x, and VMware vCenter Server 4.0.x, 4.1.x, and 5.0.x. the Barracuda Backup Server also continues its support with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, and HyperV under a low site-wide Energize Updates license with access to all future updates.
Pricing and Availability
Version 4.2 of the Barracuda Backup Service is currently available for customers with an active Energize Updates subscription. The new service includes a one-time hardware purchase of a Barracuda Backup Server, priced from $999, with an Energize Updates subscription, starting at $199 per year. Cloud storage service can be added for $50 per month ($0.25/GB) in 200GB increments.
