Netgear has announced the release of ReadyNAS Surveillance, an integrated IP surveillance solution that incorporates surveillance software, storage, switching, and network management. Designed to work with existing infrastructure, ReadyNAS Surveillance is intended to serve organizations that need a relatively small number of cameras, but also need flexible endpoint options and access to recorded video via mobile devices.
The ReadyNAS Surveillance Suite supports many common IP cameras to smooth integration with existing surveillance deployments, and bundles four Netgear components for the first time:
- The new Netgear Video Recorder software includes intelligent search, digital watermark, e-mapping, and support for up to 16 simultaneous cameras. Video may be viewed on the web or on mobile clients, including iPhone, iPad, Android, and BlackBerry devices.
- The ReadyNAS Pro 2 model offers up to 80Mbps throughput (240fps @ 1.3M, H.264).
- Netgear ProSafe Smart and Managed switches feature VLAN support, Power over Ethernet (PoE), Quality of Service (QoS), and stacking.
- Five Netgear Network Management Software (NMS200) licenses are included, with additional licenses available for multi-site installations.
Availability
ReadyNAS Surveillance will be generally available on May 16. Netgear is offering a free 30-day trial for up to 16 cameras; list price starts at $95 per camera.
