HP announced it is expanding its Converged Cloud portfolio with new solutions for VMware vCloud Suite 5.1 to assist clients in converting existing virtualization deployments into private and hybrid cloud environments. HP also now offers a PCI Compliance Security Solution Stack for virtual and cloud environments that meets all security-based PCI DSS controls.
HP announced it is expanding its Converged Cloud portfolio with new solutions for VMware vCloud Suite 5.1 to assist clients in converting existing virtualization deployments into private and hybrid cloud environments. HP also now offers a PCI Compliance Security Solution Stack for virtual and cloud environments that meets all security-based PCI DSS controls.
The expanded HP Converged Cloud portfolio is intended to accelerate cloud adoption with comprehensive security and compliance controls that can be automatically applied to virtual machines and to decrease the risk of data loss with automated policy-based data protection.
VMware vCloud Suite 5.1 now integrates with HP CloudSystem to double virtual machine density, reduce network complexity, and provide flexibility. New capabilities via HP CloudSystem include:
- Auto-flexing: Reduces response time to business requests and improves service levels by enabling VMware administrators to provision hardware for vCloud Director to automate the scaling of converged infrastructure.
- Virtual-machine importing: Simplifies clients’ path to the cloud by importing running virtual machines into an HP CloudSystem without downtime or reconfiguration.
- HP Cloud Maps for VMware: Accelerates the design of cloud services and automates the deployment of virtual applications using prepackaged, optimized CloudSystem templates.
The expanded HP Converged Cloud portfolio also encompasses the HP Cloud Protection Program and Consulting Services, a security solution across network, storage and server virtualization layers that designed to be planned and deployed in less than three weeks. HP’s Data Protector now offers integrated protection for VMware vCloud Director, featuring StoreOnce deduplication technology and one-touch policy-based protection for VMware’s multitenant cloud environment.
Availability
Expanded HP Converged Cloud solutions will be available at the end of 2012. HP also will offer all VMware vCloud Suite editions through HP sales and channel partners in late third quarter.
