NETGEAR has released RAIDiator 5.3.6, a firmware update for its ReadyNAS Duo and ReadyNAS NV+ SMB storage devices that adds NETGEAR’s ReadyDROP for file synchronization across multiple devices and other private cloud features including remote Time Machine backup for Apple devices, remote media streaming with ReadyDNLA, and ReadyNAS Replicate for simple offsite replication and disaster recovery.

These updates to RAIDiator are part of a trend of extending cloud functionality to storage platforms from high-performance enterprise devices to low-cost SMB and home network storage. NETGEAR ReadyDROP powers a secure personal storage cloud with Dropbox-like functionality with no subscription service required.

ReadyDrop synchronizes files stored on ReadyNAS Duo or ReadyNAS NV+ across supported devices including PC, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms so that users can edit, store, retrieve and view files remotely while the master copy resides on the ReadyNAS system.
