OCZ has announced its new PCIe Vector SSD Series at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show. Featuring a Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller, the PCIe Vector SSD is expected to show improved improved input/output operations per second (IOPS) burst performance and sustained performance over the SATA III Vector SSD StorageReview benchmarked in November.

The Vector PCIe SSD Series is oriented towards power users as well as content creation and workstation applications where storage performance can bottleneck workloads. The Vector PCIe SSD Series provides 4 lanes of PCIe Gen 2 throughput in full-height and half-height formats. OCZ specifies drive endurance at 100GB host writes per day for 5 years for the new PCIe SSDs.
