HP has created a package deal for small to medium businesses (SMB) who are trying to efficiently deploy and manage a server/storage environment for critical applications. Many organizations have budgetary constraints that prevent them from getting the full suite of tools they need to support these infrastructures. With this announcement HP has shown they are supportive of these businesses by offering the StoreVirtual Virtual Storage Appliance (VSA) at no additional cost to purchasers of eligible virtualization-ready HP ProLiant Generation 8 servers.

With this announcement HP has shown they are supportive of these businesses by offering the StoreVirtual Virtual Storage Appliance (VSA) at no additional cost to purchasers of eligible virtualization-ready HP ProLiant Generation 8 servers.
Offering savings to deployment of shared virtual storage by up to 80 percent, StoreVirtual VSA can leverage up to 1 TB of software-defined storage to reduce the hardware footprint in half. The VSA can be added on to existing server environments and allow the visualization of the environment that fully supports either VMware ESX or Microsoft’s Hypervisor technologies. Any of the common administrative functions in these environments will be operational in the new virtual or hybrid infrastructure. By removing any sticker shock to the purchase of the storage servers, HP has granted the SMB organizations software that can manage the consolidated technologies efficiently with an enterprise class tool that would typically have been cost prohibitive.
