LenovoEMC px4-400d and px4-400r NAS Released

LenovoEMC has announced the worldwide availability of two new products, the LenovoEMC px4-400d Network Storage at CES 2014, which is a high performance four-bay desktop NAS that delivers advanced data protection in addition to local and remote content sharing using the LenovoEMC LifeLine operating system; and LenovoEMC px4-400r Network Storage, a 1U, four-bay rackmount Server Class NAS designed for expanding small- to medium-sized businesses and distributed enterprises. 


LenovoEMC has announced the worldwide availability of two new products, the LenovoEMC px4-400d Network Storage at CES 2014, which is a high performance four-bay desktop NAS that delivers advanced data protection in addition to local and remote content sharing using the LenovoEMC LifeLine operating system; and LenovoEMC px4-400r Network Storage, a 1U, four-bay rackmount Server Class NAS designed for expanding small- to medium-sized businesses and distributed enterprises. 

LenovoEMC px4-400d

The new LenovoEMC px4-400d utilizes hot swap 7200rpm SATA-III Server Class drives in a compact form factor with up to 16TB in storage capacity (4 x 4TB) as well as up to 25% higher data read and write performance to prior generations. Other improvement from previous models include:

The new LenovoEMC px4-400d is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux devices and is powered by the LifeLine operating system, which incorporates standard network storage capabilities as well as many advanced business features that professional need. These include built-in Cloud technology, versatile remote access, virtualization, data replication, device-to-device copy jobs, advanced RAID support, solid state drive support and more. New hardware features include HDMI, eSATA and USB 3.0 ports.

Third-party applications from industry-leading software developers will automatically appear as an icon in the LifeLine OS system management interface when they are released. Some of these include: EMC AVAMAR backup client, McAfee VirusScan Enterprise, ATI Lite from Acronis or the optional (for an added fee) Acronis Backup & Recovery for LenovoEMC NAS (ABR), as well as Milestone Arcus Video Surveillance, and more. Additionally, the user interface for the LenovoEMC px4-400d is localized for 18 languages.

LenovoEMC px4-400r

The  LenovoEMC px4-400r Network Storage combines advanced data protection and local and remote content sharing with the simplicity and power of the LenovoEMC LifeLine operating system. The new px4-400r takes advantage of hot swap 7200rpm SATA-III Server Class drives, which delivers up to 16TB (4 x 4TB) in storage capacity.  Additionally, an optional dual port GigE NIC card provides more throughput and reliability. 

The new LenovoEMC px4-400r is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux devices. The LifeLine OS incorporates standard network storage capabilities in addition to many advanced business features that professional users expect such as, Windows Active Directory domain join, built-in Cloud technology, versatile remote access, broad virtualization certifications, data replication, device-to-device copy jobs, advanced RAID support, SSD support and more. New hardware features include HDMI, eSATA and USB 3.0 ports.

Availability and pricing

The new LenovoEMC px4-400d and px4-400r are now globally available.  A Pro Series version of both the px4-400d and the px4-400r–which utilize economical standard HDDs–are available in Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific. 

Pricing starts at approximately $729.00  for the px4-400d diskless model and $1,399.00 for the px4-400r. Both the Server Class Series and Pro Series are available in capacities of 1TB, 2TB, 3TB and 4TB.
