Today Barracuda Networks announced the launch of the latest version of its comprehensive archiving, eDiscovery, and information management software, ArchiveOne 7.0. This is the latest step of Barracuda rolling out their Protection Plus Initiative.

As we previously mentioned, as part of Barracuda’s Protection Plus Initiative they acquired C2C systems allowing Barracuda to offer customers a more complete product portfolio enabling IT to be simplified and storage costs to be better controlled. The acquisition accelerated Barracuda’s archiving and information management strategy. The new version of ArchiveOne builds on C2C’s platform.

The biggest upgrade and change is with the Advanced Discovery appliance. The Advanced Discovery application (developed by C2C) allows businesses to quickly and easily identify and manage data wherever it is stored. Once the data is found it can be archived, copied, or deleted by leveraging roles-based web consoles. This efficient electronic discovery can free up IT resources from record management, saving the companies money, and allows legal and audit departments to locate specific data without knowing whether it is located in mailboxes, message archives, or file servers. This allows legal teams to be more responsive in early case assessment.

Highlights of ArchiveOne 7.0 and the Advanced Discovery appliance include:

  • Easy discovery for corporate legal user, enabling legal teams to search and collect data using keywords and custodians.
  • Simplifying the business process by allowing manage data in the business context and searching for data without involving IT resources.
  • Web-based access allows IT business partners and empowered knowledge workers to use the web-based from any browser, without special client or addition software, making finding and managing the right data simple.

Availability and pricing

The new version of ArchiveOne is available now and starts at $63 per user.
