Also announced by Patriot are the new Supersonic Magnum 2 and Supersonic Rage 2 USB 3.0 flash drives.

A new SSD from Patriot is interesting, the company had essentially taken a two year hiatus from the business after struggling to find any momentum. We've long argued that fringe SSD players need to differentiate and appeal to profitable niches, perhaps that's Patriot's hope this time around. Designed to fit inside PCs or notebook, the Patriot Ignite uses the new Phison S10 controller to reach a maximum sequential read and write speeds of up to 560MB/s and 545MB/s respectively using a SATA III 6.0 Gb/s interface.

The Patriot Ignite SATA III SSD also supports operating systems such as Win 7, Win 8, Vista, Mac OS and more and is backed by Patriot’s customer service and three year warranty. In addition, it comes with advanced features such as end-to-end data protection, advanced wear-leveling, smartECC and Smart Refresh.

Patriot USB

The Patriot Supersonic Magnum 2 and Supersonic Rage 2 are the newest addition to the company's 3.0 USB flash drive portfolio. The Patriot Supersonic Magnum 2 will be available in capacities of 256GB and 512GB with maximum read and write speeds reaching 400MB/s and 300MB/s. It is also designed with a sturdy matte black, industrial grade metal housing that enables shock resistance up to 15Gs to protect stored data and laser etched. A detachable cap covers the USB connector to prevent damage of the port from the elements.

The Supersonic Rage 2 is Patriot’s highest performing, ultra-portable and high capacity USB 3.0 flash drive. It is designed with a rugged, rubberized casing to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use and the all-in-one slide to connect feature protects the port from damage while traveling inside a bag or pocket. The Supersonic Rage 2 is quoted to reach read and write speeds of up to 400MB/s and 300MB/s and is available in capacities of 128GB and 256GB.

Availability and Pricing

The Ignite SSDs will be available for purchase in January, 2015 for $214.99 (480GB) and $404.99 (960GB). Both the Supersonic Magnum 2 and Supersonic Rage 2 will be available sometime in February of 2015.
