Intel has announced two new additions to their data center family of SSDs, the Intel SSD DC S3710 Series and the Intel SSD DC S3610 Series. The Intel SSD DC S3710 Series is 2.5” form factor and comes in 200GB, 400GB, 800GB, and 1.2TB capacities. The Intel SSD DC S3610 Series comes in both 2.5” and 1.8” form factor with the 2.5” coming in 200GB, 400GB, 480GB, 800GB, 1.2TB, and 1.6TB capacities and the 1.8” coming in 200GB, 400GB, and 800GB capacities. Both of the new SSDs will use 20nm NAND, SATA interface and will deliver greater write performance compared to their prior models.

The Intel SSD DC S3710 Series will replace the DC S3700. The S3710 Series is aimed at applications such as high-performance computing, high definition imaging and video, high data rate analytics and operational databases, and large-scale virtualization. Its increased write performances will give businesses faster processing at lower total cost of ownership.

The Intel SSD DC S3610 Series provides a balance between of endurance and performance at a lower price than entry-level data center SSDs. The S6610 Series would be used for workloads such as operational and analytical databases, virtualization, e-commerce, and cloud infrastructures.
