QNAP has announced the TS-x31+ series Turbo NAS for SMBs, which is equipped with a dual-core 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex-A15 CPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, and native support for SATA 6Gb/s drives. This new set of hardware allows the TS-x31+ series to offer a powerful, yet energy-efficient solution for file storage, sharing and data backup with hardware-accelerated encryption. It also features the easy-to-use cloud-based Notes Station 2.0 and various multimedia applications.
The TS-x31+ series offers transfer and multitasking performance up to 200MB/s in throughput and its enhanced hardware encryption engine boasts speeds over 150MB/s with AES-256 bit Full NAS Volume Encryption to ensure the safety of private data. In addition, the TS-x31+ series is equipped with dual Gigabit LAN ports, supports dual IP settings and port-trunking modes, and allows users to set up fault tolerance or link aggregation for increased data throughput.
The new Notes Station 2.0 enables users to create digital notes on their private cloud to collaborate and share with others. Users can also edit their notes with an web-based editor, take screenshots with a Google Chrome extension or desktop Qsnap application, add media files stored on the TS-x31+, and have access to their notes through the Qnotes mobile app. Notes Station 2.0 also supports PDF file import/export, RSS live feeds, snapshots for version control, online preview for attached multimedia files, AES 256-bit encryption for notes, and the ability to back up and modify Evernote notes.
With its support for DLNA, AirPlay, and Chromecast, the TS-x31+ series allows users to view photos, listen to music, and watch HD-quality videos on compatible Smart TVs, game consoles and media players. In addition, with the Photo Station, Music Station, and Video Station apps, users can centralize their media collection, which can be remotely accessed and managed using the Qphoto, Qmusic, Qvideo, Qfile, and Qmanager mobile apps. The Qsync utility helps to sync files across various devices with the most updated copy stored on the NAS.
The QTS App Center provides various install-on-demand apps developed by QNAP, as well as third-party developers, such as apps for backup/sync, productivity tools, content management, communications, downloading, entertainment and more. Additionally, QNAP’s development platform gives developers the ability to their own applications.
