Today Nutanix Inc. announced the launch of the beta for its new Community Edition software. The new software will enable broad access to hyperconverged technology without the need for incremental hardware investment. Community Edition is aimed at Enterprise IT Professionals and Application Developers, Technology Enthusiasts and Partners, and Students and Academic Researchers.
Community Edition is a limited-scale version of the full Nutanix software stack. Being a beta, it is available at no cost and once it comes out of beta it will remain free. The software will allow scores of users to try out Nutanix' enterprise computing platform. Nutanix claims the software can be deployed in less than 60 minutes, simplifies IT, and eliminates the cost of hardware and compatibility barriers. Users of Community Edition can also use NEXT online community for help, answers, and guidance.
The release of this new software beta extends Nutanix' commitment to fostering an open, transparent and community-centric approach to innovative solutions for mainstream enterprises. Nutanix believes that the release demonstrates that the future of hyperconverged infrastructures is about software. Nutanix Community Edition software runs on nearly any standard x86-based server.
Availability
