Everspin & Aupera Team Up To Deliver First All-MRAM In M.2 Form Factor

by Adam Armstrong

Everspin Technologies, Inc. and Aupera Technologies Inc. announced that together they are launching the industry’s first all MRAM storage module in the M.2 form factor, the AupM001. The AupM001 uses Everspin’s non-volatile, high endurance, 64 Mb DDR3 ST-MRAM devices and a PCIe backhaul interface and comes with an initial capacity of 32MB with higher capacities planned for the future.

Everspin Technologies is the worldwide leader in designing, manufacturing, and commercially shipping discrete and embedded Magnetoresistive RAM (MRAM) and Spin-Torque MRAM (ST-MRAM). Everspin’s ST-MRAM is designed for high endurance storage. The ST-MRAM is a combination of the endurance of DRAM with the non-volatility of Flash and has a DDR3 SDRAM compatible interface. Aupera Technologies designs solutions for all flash arrays.

The AupM001 is a result in the combination of technologies of the two companies. Aupera will use the AupM001 as an application accelerator in its All-Flash Array systems, Aup1000 and Aup2000.
