DR is and has been a very complex and costly undertaking for IT. Though technologies such as server virtualization have simplified DR, it still remains a challenge for most. While the public cloud offers an attractive option for DR it isn’t possible to achieve a simple, cost-effective, and automated DR without the use of a platform such as OneCloud Recovery. When using OneCloud Recovery between VMware environments and AWS customer can expect to see:
- Organizations to achieve recovery times between 1 and 24 hours without an expensive, complex secondary data center
- Fully automated DR from installation through the full DR lifecycle without any noticeable disruption
- Achieve full disaster recovery protection at 50 to 70% lower total cost due to OneCloud Recovery’s advanced cost avoidance engine
- Accomplish all of the above without any previous knowledge of AWS. The user only needs to know the types of recovery policies they want provisioned.
OneCloud claims that their recovery platform can be initiated over a lunch hour. OneCloud Recovery installs in 30 minutes and can begin to protect data within 60 minutes. OneCloud further claims that OneCloud Recovery is the only scalable solution that is built for enterprises of all sizes.
OneCloud Recovery features include:
- DR for any VMware-based data center using AWS, eliminating the need for costly secondary data centers and other over-priced cloud
- Auto-discovers on-premise infrastructure by plugging directly into vSphere
- Uses a simple policy engine to provide recovery points and recovery times between 1 and 24 hours
- Fails applications over to the AWS DR site; failback to bring only the modified data back to the primary site
- Through its patented Automated Cloud Engine (ACE), eliminates the need for a need a secondary data center filled with expensive infrastructure that is complex to manage
Availability
OneCloud Recovery is generally available now. OneCloud will be showing a demo of OneCloud Recovery at booth #308 at VMworld August 30 – September 3, 2015 in San Francisco.
