Today HP announced the general availability of the latest version of its integrated enterprise cloud solution, Helion CloudSystem 9.0. Along with the software update, HP is also introducing a new platform optimized for CloudSystem 9.0, the HP ConvergedSystem 700.
Incorporating HP Helion OpenStack and the HP Helion Development Platform, Helion CloudSystem 9.0 delivers an enterprise-ready integrated open source infrastructure as-a-service (IaaS) and platform as-a-service (PaaS) offering. Customers will be able to take the modern development environment provided by CloudSystem 9.0 and integrate it with their existing investments. CloudSystem 9.0 enables customers to move their applications to the cloud while developing and deploying cloud-native applications.
Businesses have diverse needs when it comes to application development and deployment and CloudSystem 9.0 enables IT resources to manage mixed cloud environments to cater to these needs. CloudSystem 9.0 is compatible with most operating systems, hypervisors, standard infrastructure, and operations management tools. Aside from its compatibility and its ability to managed mixed cloud environments, it also simplifies the integration with heterogeneous IT environments, ensuring these existing investments can be leveraged in the cloud.
Benefits include:
- OpenStack software and Cloud Foundry application programming interfaces (APIs) to access and control cloud resources directly
- Hybrid cloud management capabilities across various private and public cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, HP Helion Public Cloud, HP Helion OpenStack and VMware, as well as providing customers the ability to move workloads between AWS and their datacenters using HP Helion Eucalyptus
- Support for multiple hypervisors, including Microsoft Hyper-V, Red Hat KVM and VMware ESXi, offering customers additional choice and avoiding vendor lock-in
- The latest version of HP Cloud Service Automation, providing a single management platform to control multiple cloud environments
- Integration with HP OneView, expanding support of physical server provisioning, including deployment of bare metal resources
- Standalone software or fully-integrated software and hardware options offer customers alternatives to meet changing demands
- HP Helion CloudSystem 9.0 can be deployed as standalone software supporting a multiple vendor hardware environment. While HP Helion CloudSystem 9.0 provides customers flexibility and choice, it is also optimized for HP ConvergedSystem 700, delivering the openness of a fully curated OpenStack and Cloud Foundry technology-based cloud.
HP is also introducing a new ConvergedSystem appliance that comes with Helion CloudSystem 9.0 pre-integrated at the factory, HP ConvergedSystem 700. This new system is purpose built for flexibility, scalability and faster time-to-value. HP states that customers wishing to deploy a hybrid cloud environment can do so with the ConvergedSystem 700 in as few as two days.
