Samsung successfully released its ultra portable SSD T1 a year ago. In our review we found it to very powerful for its very small size and built well. Samsung has built off of this technology by doubling the maximum capacity while maintaining the same high performance. Aside from doubling the capacity, Samsung also switched the outer casing from plastic to metal adding both durability and thermal guard. The interface is now USB 3.1 Type C giving it even more compatibility options.
Being portable, the T3 is designed to handle its share of bumps in the road. Being an SSD there are no moving parts. The thermal guard helps it to survive in extreme temperatures, it can handle a two-meter drop, and withstand up to 1500G of force. This isn’t the only method of keeping users data secure. The T3 has a password option and AES 256-bit hardware encryption.
