When one thinks of ROBO deployments all-flash HCI appliances isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Traditionally this type of appliance is thought to be too expensive for this type of deployment. Atlantis is addressing this issue with its CX-4. The CX-4 comes with 4TB of all-flash capacity and 48 compute cores in a 2U form factor. This amount of flash capacity and compute power should enable any remote office to meet its infrastructure requirements. Atlantis further states that the CX-4 has the lowest price point for any HCI appliance, it comes with three years of 24×7 support, is simple to deploy, and pre-configures networking for each remote appliance to connect to central Atlantis Manager virtual appliance.

Atlantis is partnering with Dell to make its entire line of HyperScale all-flash HCI appliances available on Dell’s FX2 platform. Not only will the new CX-4 be available on the Dell FX2 platform but also so will the CX-12 and the CX-24. This joint solution allows customers to take advantage of both Atlantis’ hyperconverged solution and the flexibility Dell’s blade server density and integrated 10GbE switching with the cost-effectiveness of rack servers.

Availability and pricing

The CX-4 is available now and starts at $43,000. All of Atlantis HyperScale appliances are available on Dell’s PowerEdge FX2 platform starting today as well.
