Today at EMC World 2016, EMC Corporation’s Enterprise Content Division (ECD) announced the latest version of its unified enterprise platform that powers “extreme” compliant archiving scenarios at petabyte scale, InfoArchive 4.0. Enterprises need a solution to archive legacy apps as they continue to modernize their data centers and applications. InfoArchive 4.0 can help reduce costs while securing and leveraging large amounts of critical application data and content.

As we previously stated, InfoArchive is an application agnostic archive product suite that preserves the value of enterprise information all the while helping customers accelerate their journey to the 3rd Platform of IT. The latest version includes a new horizontally scalable architecture that combines flexible reporting and easy accessibility. This new architecture makes large amounts of data and content easily available. InfoArchive 4.0 is designed to provide visibility into both structured and unstructured data sources, which in turn can ease complexities and eliminate the siloed infrastructure of past architecture.

When it comes to archive, compliance and regulatory mandates are a top concern with capacity and costs. The sheer volume of data that needs to meet compliance now is staggering, couple that with changing regulatory needs and complex legislation most companies are looking for a solution that addresses these concerns. InfoArchive 4.0 has new features that enable retention management, legal holds, data masking and PCI compliance without the need to copy or reprocess data after it has been ingested. It also meets enterprise-scale compliance scenarios such as Dodd-Frank in the United States, MiFID2/R in the European Union and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OFSI) E-13 in Canada. On top of this compliance, InfoArchive has “out-of-the-box” compliant data access for Hadoop. That means regulated information and records can be made available to big data analytics at a low TCO, with no extra purchases.

InfoArchive customers can now manage SAP data throughout the application lifecycle. Using SAP Archivelink, users can actively archive SAP production systems into EMC InfoArchive. This gives user the ability to retrieve data using SAP-native tools and maintain compliance with both industry regulations and company policies. SAP application retirement and decommissioning is also supported through InfoArchive. Not only that, through partnerships with PBS Software GmbH and EPI-USE Labs, SAP users can transition to new technologies such as SAP HANA, SAP S4HANA and the SAP SuccessFactors cloud solution. EMC InfoArchive manages data across the transition by offloading inactive information from SAP before migration.

Availability and pricing

EMC InfoArchive 4.0 will be generally available on June 13, 2016. EMC InfoArchive is volume priced by TB ingested.
