ADATA has launched the S596 Turbo SSD powered by the JMicron JMF616 processor. Despite the self-proclaimed title of "the First JMF616 SSD on Earth," which they’re not, the S596 Turbo comes in capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. At the highest end, users can expect speeds of 260MB/s read and 210MB/s write.

While SSDs often struggle to differentiate themselves, the ADATA S596 Turbo does have a neat trick up its sleeve; it comes with a dual interface – your standard SATA II coupled with mini-USB – giving the drive quite a bit of flexibility to be used either inside or outside a host computer. The drive also ships with 3.5" rails for desktop PC mounting.
On the performance front, the latest JMicron controller (JMF616) and the 128MB cache give the S596 Turbo a 20% performance boost over the prior generation S596 SSD. ADATA is also promoting better stability and improved wear leveling over the prior edition. The drives also include a 3-year warranty.
