Today, May 1st, 2019, Arcserve announced the next version of Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP). Arcserve Unified Data Protection uses an image-based approach to provide data protection for a wide range of workloads. The new release will add support for Microsoft Office 365 and Nutanix AHV. Arcserve was founded in 1983 and provides both cloud and on-premise data protection services including an all-in-one appliance we covered earlier this year.

Arcserve Unified Data Protection uses an image-based approach to provide data protection for a wide range of workloads. The new release will add support for Microsoft Office 365 and Nutanix AHV. Arcserve was founded in 1983 and provides both cloud and on-premise data protection services including an all-in-one appliance we covered earlier this year.
Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) for Microsoft Office 365 support will include Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. UDP support will consist of not just point-in-time recovery of Office 365, but also other data protection features not natively available. Notably,Unified Data Protection will provide deduplication and compression with AES encryption, which will help keep storage and backup costs down. Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP) already provides backup and granular recovery for Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Hyper-V, so we can expect support for Office 365 to include the same quality of offsite backup services.
The release will also add support to ArcserveUnified Data Protection (UDP) for Nutanix AHV. The release will introduce agentless protection for production workloads on Nutanix AHV and the ability to leverage Nutanix AHV as a disaster recovery platform. The current web-based management console of Arcserve UDP will administer Nutanix AHV without the need for new or additional user interfaces.
