Asus has been making premium-ish notebooks for some time with the requisite sharp lines and classic Lamborghini script and charging bull logo. It appears they’re adding to the line of products with a series of external hard drives that share the same fun design, but lack the 3.3 second 0-60 speeds buyers might expect.

Right now the hard drives are available internationally in 500GB and 750GB capacities in a sluggish USB 2.0 interface. USB 3.0 is apparently coming soon, but again is hampered by a 7200 RPM platter disk. Either way, the Lambo brand on these drives is like using a Murciélago to tow a fishing boat, not exactly the highest and best use. If there’s ever been a good excuse to slam an SSD into a supercar-inspired enclosure, this would appear to be it.
