Barracuda has been investing heavily in better security for Microsoft Azure lately. Last week they launched Cloud Security Guardian, an agentless Software-as-a-Service security solution for Azure. Today, Barracuda is building on that release with an update to its CloudGen Firewall.
This update to Barracuda’s CloudGen Firewall is focused on improving the security of Azure Virtual Wan. With the update, the Office 365 policy set in Azure Virtual WAN by the customer is now automatically configured and enforced in every Barracuda CloudGen Firewall connected to Azure Virtual WAN. Now that the firewall respects Office 365 breakout policies, customers can specify Office 365 traffic categories that they trust and allow network traffic to bypass proxies so they can route directly to the nearest Microsoft network location. This should improve network flow. Connection and configuration of Barracuda CloudGen Firewall with Azure Virtual WAN is fully automated as well, making it easy to get started with the solution. Users need only to fill out authentication information and click “connect.”
