Today at EMC World 2016, Brocade announced that its Gen 6 Fibre Channel and IP storage networking technologies would be providing a network foundation for the EMC Unity solution. According to Brocade, this technology will optimize the performance, availability, and reliability of Unity storage deployments.

Announced earlier today, Unity is a flexible, all-flash solution aimed at midrange IT. Unity is designed from the ground up to be simple, affordable (the all-flash version starts at less than $18,000), and flexible. If organizations really want to take full advantage of storage solutions such as Unity they need to make sure their storage network is not the bottleneck. This is were Brocade’s Gen 6 Fibre Channel and IP storage technologies come in. Brocade states that its technologies can provide an agile and easy-to-deploy network foundation between servers and EMC Unity all-flash and hybrid storage that eliminates bottlenecks for high-transaction, mixed workloads in flash-based arrays.

Brocade takes its 20 years of best practices and leverages it when automating tasks. Brocade Fabric Vision technology uses innovative monitoring and diagnostics to preemptively avoid issues before they impact operations, in turn simplifying management.
