OCZ Increases SSD Manufacturing Capacity to Meet Demand

OCZ Technology has announced it opened a new SSD manufacturing plant in Taipei, Taiwan; operation is scheduled to begin Oct. 25. With the addition of the new facility, OCZ can now manufacture an additional 110,000 units per month, up from just 50,000.

The new 20,000-sq. ft. facility has test and burn-in technologies; it was built in response to increased demand from OEMs for the company’s Enterprise SSD products.

QNAP Releases QMobile App for Android

QNAP Systems has released its QMobile app for the Android 1.5, 1.6, and 2.1 platforms, following the release of its iPhone app. When used in conjunction with a QNAP Turbo NAS server and the V3.3.2 management software, users can stream music, digital photos, and videos from the server to their Android handsets. It works anywhere over WiFi or 3G.

The QMobile app has a My Jukebox feature, which works as a music organizer; users can browse and select playlists and so on. The app also lets users copy files to their device.
