Buffalo TeraStation 3000 Offers Unified NAS and iSCSI Storage

Buffalo has announced the availability of its TeraStation 3000 series of high performance NAS and iSCSI unified storage devices for SMB. TeraStation 3000 solutions are oriented towards small offices and prosumers needing RAID-supported network storage. Buffalo is now shipping the TeraStation 3400, a pedestal desktop unit, and the TeraStation 3400r, its 1U rackmount counterpart. The TeraStation 3000 Series provides simultaneous NAS and iSCSI target functionality with dual gigabit Ethernet ports for redundancy, load balancing, or link aggregation. Both storage appliances are powered by a dual-core ARM processor and include 1GB of installed DDR3 RAM.

Buffalo has also bundled NovaBACKUP Business Essentials software that integrates with Windows Server 2003/2008 R2/2011/2012 as well as Microsoft SQL 2012, Microsoft Exchange Server 2012, VMware ESXi/vSphere 4.x/5.0 licensed with the vStorage API, and Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008/2008R2/2011/2012.

The TeraStation 3000 Series incorporates the Buffalo Surveillance Video Manager with one camera license bundled, and support for up to five RTSP IP-based surveillance video cameras total. Users can add additional TeraStation devices to support additional cameras, long-term video retention, or video storage redundancy.

The two-drive pedestal TeraStation 3400 is available now at $599.99 for 4TB (TS3400D0404), $749.99 for 8TB (TS3400D0804), $1,099.99 for 12TB (TS3400D1204) and $1,599.99 for 16TB (TS3400D1604).

The two-drive 1U TeraStation 3400r Rackmount is available now at $1,399.99 for 4TB (TS3400R0404), $1,549.99 for the 8TB (TS3400R0804), $1,899.99 for 12TB (TS3400R1204) and $2,399.99 for 16TB (TS3400R1604).
