This release is intended to compliment enhancements announced in October 2012 to ARCserv’s non-disruptive bare metal recovery failback capabilities and integration with CA Nimsoft.
ARCserve provides VM and host backups for VMware, and offers VM backups for Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix XenServer. The new release supports VMware vSphere 5.1 and provides backup, recovery, replication and high availability for Windows Server 2012/Windows 8 environments, including NTFS deduplication, Resilient File Systems, and Storage Spaces.
Remote Virtual Standby automatically replicates VM and hosts images offsite as bootable VMs for disaster recovery and business continuity. Cascading Failover has been added to ARCserve, allowing servers and data to be replicated to multiple onsite and remote failover servers. Local assets can be used to mitigate simple outages, with offsite assets reserved for more serious disasters. CA Technologies has expanded cloud support for backup migration to include Microsoft Windows Azure, Fujitsu Global Cloud and Eucalyptus 3.0/3.1, and Amazon Web Services EC2 for customers in Japan.
