Cisco Intersight Hits GA For Pure Storage Automation

This week, Cisco has announced the General Availability of Intersight for Pure Storage Flash Array Automation. With this initial integration, Intersight seeks to facilitate infrastructure administrators to automate storage and storage-related virtualization tasks through workflows using the Intersight Workflow Designer. Cisco Intersight is a Software as a Service (SaaS) infrastructure management platform that overcomes the difficulties of supporting infrastructure across geographically dispersed locations.

Cisco states that this kind of cloud-based platform as a service is the first of its kind. Intersight brings a new era not only in how administrators can manage infrastructure, but how Cisco will deliver new features. Cisco Intersight is provided as a service with embedded analytics for Cisco and 3rd party IT infrastructure. It offers a different level of management that enables analysis, simplification, and automation of the environments in more advanced ways than the prior generations of tools.

To support the journey of automation, Cisco and Pure Storage have jointly developed this first third-party Integration into Cisco Intersight to give storage administrators the ability to manage Pure products from within Cisco Intersight. The first Integration is with FlashArray, Pure’s block-based all-flash storage array.

For Pure Storage, the potential of this platform lies in new features and capabilities. This storage and virtualization platform aims to solve the complexities of infrastructure management tools, providing: simplified deployment, management at scale, and the ability to add updates/enhancement without impacting operation frequently.
