Today at Citrix Synergy 2017 in Orlando, Florida, Citrix Systems announced innovations that will help businesses to secure the expanding digital workspace. The new workspace offerings will also enable customers to rethink work, both the where and the how, as well as what “things” are connected and actively involved.
As the future of work is changing, organizations need to harness the full potential of this change by supporting virtual work and mobile business. The innovations announced this morning aim to provide the tools to take full advantage of this shift. Citrix is announcing a new unified, secure digital workspace that includes mobile, software-defined networking and analytics services in the Citrix Cloud and advanced document workflows. On top of this, the company is also introducing a new security framework to secure and simplify access and control of what people need in the new digital transformative age, apps and data.
To cut through the complexity and frustrations that result out of the multi-cloud strategy, Citrix’s new secure digital workspace user experience (that includes unified access and management of mobile, SaaS, web and Windows apps) is an easy-to-use solution that increases productivity. End-users can have a consistent experience on any device with a single sign-on using any federated identity. Using a variety of metrics such as location, device, and identity, the new digital workspace can provide a balance of performance, security, and productivity. Along with these abilities, the new digital workspace also includes advanced content collaboration, information rights management, and business workflow capabilities. An example of this would be a user creating, editing, and collaborating on Office 365 documents all within the digital workspace. Also within the workspace users can initiate a custom workflow and approval process with colleagues.
It seems that every month or so there is a new security threat washing across the digital world. Not only are attackers becoming more sophisticated and difficult to stop before they do damage, enterprise security is changing as the landscape of where work takes place changes. Citrix is addressing this through a new approach that uses a new software-defined perimeter of the digital workspace, and complements other layers of defense in a multi-layer approach to security. Citrix has also formed the Citrix Consulting Services to better help customers secure their environments.
Another aspect of security is analytics. Today the company launched Citrix Analytics. This analytics solution takes capabilities of Citrix NetScaler Management and Analytics System (MAS) and extends them with behavior detection, insights, and proactive risk resolution capabilities. Leveraging machine learning, this offering can analyze data sets from across the Citrix product portfolio (including XenApp/XenDesktop, XenMobile, ShareFile, NetScaler) and quickly detects anomalies allowing for quick troubleshooting.
