The advantage of meeting the Opal standard is a portable hard drive is largely around compliance and legal needs. Many organizations comply with Opal standards on individual notebook or desktop machines, but when it comes to external storage, users are not as rigorous in protecting data. The CE Secure DiskVault Wave Edition, helps ensure that companies meet regulations like HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and more with their portable storage.

Wave’s EMBASSY Trusted Drive Manager software layered on top brings a host of security and management features to the drive. Trusted Drive Manager is highlighted by features like:

  • Initialize/un-initialize drive
  • Instant cryptographic erase
  • Backup of administrator’s credentials
  • Drive locking management
  • Pre-boot authentication configuration
  • Windows Password Synchronization
  • Single Sign-On to Windows
