Corsair has announced two new SSD series along with a 512GB SSD. The drives have a 2.5-inch form factor, SATA II interface, and should be shipping soon.

The Reactor series is a balance between performance and value. It is available in 60GB and 120GB versions, has 128MB of cache, and a mini-USB port built-in. The 60GB version has maximum read/write speeds of 250/110MB/s and the 120GB version ups the read speed to 170MB/s. Pricing appears to be around $215 for the 60GB and $420 for the 120GB.

The Nova series features a higher-end Indilinx Barefoot controller, which allows for up to 215MB/s read speeds. It uses MLC NAND flash technology. There will be 64GB and 128GB models; the 64GB has up to 130MB/s write and the 128GB up to 195MB/s. The 64GB version is priced about $228 and the 128GB $431.

All four drives should be available within the next few weeks.

Corsair has also announced its first 512GB SSD, which has a 3.5-inch form factor and 128MB of cache. The company claims read and write speeds of 200MB/s and 240MB/s, respectively. Pricing in the UK at the moment appears to be about 1,250GBP or US$1,748.
